American Campus Communities

Here are some of the more notable projects I have completed during my time at American Campus Communities. Template creation, hand-lettering, logo creation, and photography have all played a part in making these pieces for the marketing department.

Province Logo

Province Logo

The Province is the name of several assets in different markets, so this mark had to work with a range of property styles and locations. I chose to create something architectural and modern. This one specifically was mocked up for Rochester, New York.

Skyview Logo

Skyview Logo

Skyview is located in Flagstaff, Arizona and has a view of the mountains which I depicted in the logo. The negative space between the mountains was a minimalist rooftop to symbolize the property.

Competitor Mailer

Competitor Mailer

This postcard was part of a mailer campaign sent throughout all of the properties to competitor addresses. I was tasked with coming up with a Valentine’s themed template that would work within various markets. I decided to combine photography and lettering to create an impactful, bold piece that would catch the attention of students.

Photography, concept, and hand-lettering all done by me.

T-Shirt Mockup Photoshoot

T-Shirt Mockup Photoshoot

The American Campus Creative Team had a problem. We were using vector illustrations of shirts to show our designs, and they weren’t accurately reflecting the styles we have available. They didn’t look good on marketing materials, and they weren’t appealing.

I was able to utilize my photography skills to create images that could convey exactly what our t-shirt designs would look like on college kids like the ones we market to. Myself and a team of three others traveled down to the University of Texas campus for the day where we conducted this photoshoot. I was the sole photographer and art directed this project. I created a mood board, sourced equipment, and found locations on campus. From there, a colleague and I were able to put together a shot list for the day.

The templates are designed to be as easy as possible to use. The designers can change the t-shirt color, drop in new designs, and use them in marketing pieces with the fastest possible turnaround.

This shoot was done on a minimal budget, but due to the response from senior management and the overwhelming positive feedback from the properties, there are now future shoots on the horizon.
