I majored in Studio Art with a focus in Graphic Design & Photography at Illinois State University, ultimately graduating in 2012 with a BA in Photography. My first job out of college was as a product photographer, where I got my feet wet in the corporate world.
Between then and now, I've worn many hats in the marketing world. I've worked as an advertising and design assistant & event photographer for Bloomington-Normal's largest newspaper. I've been a photo editor & photographer for a top tech research company. At the same time, I've balanced personal projects and freelance work, finding & evolving my own personal style.
These days, I am a graphic designer at American Campus Communities, the leading student housing company in the nation. My focus is creating visually compelling marketing pieces that drive students to our communities by coming up with relevant designs that speak to college students. I create everything from e-flyers and T-shirts to mailers and corporate culture initiatives. In addition, I am the main point of contact for everything photography, including employee headshots.
In my free time, I maintain daily hand lettering projects, watercolor works and character illustrations. I strive to always be a better designer and learn the latest trends in the industry, while balancing a classic look that will persevere. I currently live in Austin with my husband and our pets (a dog and a cat) where I love to garden, hike, and explore the city.
